Everything You Need To Know About The New Agricultural Clean Technology Program

The Government of Canada recently released a new funding opportunity, Agricultural Clean Technology (ACT) program, designed to help drive the necessary changes for establishing a low-carbon economy and sustainable growth in the Canadian agri-food and agriculture sector.

The creation, development, and implementation of clean technologies is required for Canada to achieve the goals of the climate plan, however many organizations do not have the financial means to make these changes on their own.

With over 15 years experience,

Terralta is proud to work with

many individuals, organizations,

and businesses in the agriculture

sector to install progressive

technologies that utilize

renewable energy sources.

What kind of existing technologies would qualify?

Under the Adoption Stream in the ACT Program, support will be provided for the purchase and installation of clean technologies and processes.

If you can provide evidence of reduced greenhouse gas emissions, or other environmental benefits, there may be a higher priority assigned to your application.

Activities that embrace green energy and energy efficiency, precision agriculture or bioeconomy solutions are eligible for funding from the Adoption Stream.

Terralta has installed many solar panels used for irrigation systems, which is an example of a clean technology that would be supported by the Agricultural Clean Technology Program.

What about innovative technologies?

The Agricultural Clean Technology Program values the innovation, development, and expansion of clean technologies through the Research and Innovation Stream.

The focus remains on the 3 priority areas of green energy and energy efficiency, precision agriculture or bioeconomy, in order to achieve the goal of building a healthier environment and stronger economy.
